I've thought a lot about these for a while so I hope they don't come off as jerk-ish xD; And these aren't any huge deal to me, but just my two-cents.

1. Why is gestation only one week? It's not like I don't like it being shorter but I feel like it catches me off-guard almost because I'm so used to it being two weeks and matching the switching of the seasons. It makes it easier, for me at least, to keep track of when my foals are going to be born. There's also the want of role playing my mares when they're pregnant. A week isn't long enough to accomplish them unless you speed through them and you start as soon as the breeding thread is up. I also like the two week wait. It makes it more fun, in my opinion, to wait longer for that foal that you REALLY want.

2. I feel like there's a huge emphasis on the games right now like, to the point of spamming in them and therefore people are choosing to earn Hoofprints through the games rather than advertising or role playing because, let's face it, the games are a LOT easier, even though advertising gets you more Hoofprints per ad and role playing is the whole reason that we're here. I've been trying to figure out how to combat this issue and the only thing I can figure out how to fix it is through just shutting off the posting count (which will prevent Hoofprints getting added) in the games board alone so the only way to earn Hoofprints is through the games that give out more Hoofprints than just posting (i.e. Guess the Color, Guess the Horse, and Guess the Lyrics [idk about the last one since I haven't played it xD]) or implementing a no spamming rule so people can only post when x amount of people have already posted before them.

I understand people wanting Hoofprints to buy stuff for their characters (I just used all of mine xD) and art and whatnot but I feel like there are other (and better) ways for people to earn Hoofprints that will help the site (i.e. advertising and role playing. Oh and doing art for people by making a store! Forgot about that one.). Like I said, I don't have a fool proof idea to help fix this and even if it's not fixed I'm not going to cry and whine about it. It's just what I've noticed and I thought it would help to bring it up.

I second the idea of waiting 2 weeks to have a foal. I mean, if we have to wait six for it to grow up, then it only makes sense XD

I like the longer gestation too. I mean I was suprised one day to find the foal my mare was pregnant was born a few days ago XD

We had thought about making the gestation longer but since the focus was supposed to be mutations-through-breeding we thought we'd make it a bit shorter so more mutants could be borneded. xDD BUT, it seems like it's not just me that doesn't think mares are preggo for long enough!

I'm okay to change that to two weeks, as long as it's okay with Infer. :3

As far as the games go, I'm not really sure how to go about stopping that. I do agree that it's getting a bit ridiculous and the fact that advertising for us has all but come to a halt, we definitely need a new system. I just don't see how Infer and I could moderate and make sure that people aren't spamming. It would get hella out of control to have to try and make sure that every person waited for two or three posters before posting again.

As far as the games go that award points... I'm thinking of getting rid of the Guess the Lyrics one. Games such as that are far too easy (Google, anyone?).

But I also totally understand what you mean about moderating the games so whether it gets fixed or not, I'm just glad to have brought it to your attention as your humble servant xD

You could add a rule that says that one may only post once every two posts in the Games board. So if you post in Count to 1000 and then someone else posts, you have to wait for a second person to post before you reply.

And I agree with removing the Guess the Lyrics, it's too easy and there are more comments on there than there are actual guesses and such. If it were run by one person like Poiz's game, then it could be better, though.

For fixing the game spam, is there a way to change the money coding to turn off automatic $ rewards for posting on that board? I feel like I've played games in the past that only gave you auto $ for posts in IC boards, and all of the OOC boards you didn't get any. I feel like games are generally popular enough that without the automatic hoofprint award people would still play, and of course the manual/special hoofprint awarding would not change for the games that do that.

Yes, you just have to turn off the "Allow Post Counts" in the board menu ;]

That completely takes off the money that would be awarded for just posting in the thread. There's no way (that I'm aware of) that you can have certain boards award 5 points per post and others only award 1 point per post. It's either all or nothing xD

I haven't seen a game where some boards gave more money than others, but there were a couple a few years back I was on that depending on the particular board you either got money or you didn't. There weren't grades of money awards that I can recall for certain. But it wasn't site-wide money or not.

Yes there are ways to block the Games from earning points. I think Infer and I are going to have a sit-down talk about this one. xD
