Hey, Da. I'm tellin' ya! That beasty was bigger then even ya'. The painted little filly trotted briskly toward her home, making sure to step in every last pile of snow she came upon. Caiaphas followed her cautiously, moving his bulk slowly and eyeing her every move. He often thought about Lycia when he was with Charlotte. He knew he'd done wrong by the mute little mare. He'd done wrong by her mother, Sage as well. Caiaphas had changed ever since that night. He'd changed even more since he'd met Precious, Charlotte's mother. You don' believe me. But I'm tellin' ya. The filly didn't look back to her father, she just continued on her conversation with her mostly silent father following behind.
Caiaphas didn't like talking to his daughter. Mostly because he was afraid his voice, deep and at times harsh, was frightening to the energetic, little filly. It'd been the same way with Lycia. Silence didn't seem to be a problem when it came to the young ladies in Caiaphas' life, for he was a silent beast by nature, and they (aside from Lycia, who had no choice in the matter) enjoyed listening to their own voices. However, it seemed that in the case of Lycia and Precious, a good chunk of his female family, silence was not necessarily the most convenient option.
The stallion quickened his pace to keep up with his daughter as they approached the place her mother would surely be. Caiaphas' ears perked up as he took in the scent of his friend and King Annas along with that of his mate. How odd considering their unknown involvement with one another. It was one of the best kept secrets Caiaphas had. Fear wasn't what took hold of his mind as they approached. The feeling was more one of paranoia.
ooc: ah drama! xDDD Caiaphas has gotten himself into a predicament. And who knows where Pilate is?! xDDD

ANNAS. Annas showed more signs of age than most who had lived as long as he had. His long years of self-discipline and devotion left his body thin and waif-like. Such appearances were often treacherous though; truly his body held a lot of strength, both physical and mental. The King pointed his attention at Caiaphas' interest today. The red-horned temptress was to be detested; her mutations ever-present. She stank of the scent of her mother, Grea, the one he'd punished so long ago. Oh yes, Annas knew this demon was his spawn. The smell was pinpointed soon after her arrival. Eleazar would never know him as "father", only "King". That was how it had to be. Annas regretted nothing.
The bald equine scowled at the sound of Charlotte's voice approaching. More of the lesser sex. It was as if the Mother was testing him directly. Though, upon his nostrils' closer inspection, Annas sensed Caiaphas' entrance as well. Thank the Mother. He would not be alone, surrounded by deadly estrogen today.
ELEAZAR. Eleazar, quiet as ever, knew Annas' eyes were on her. She could feel their burning amber brand her side. The mare grazed slowly, chewing and swallowing repetitively. She wasn't sure what he was looking for; why wouldn't he just go away and leave her in peace? Eleazar had allegiance for her King, but she didn't always want him lurking around her. The sound of her daughter's voice brightened Eleazar's face. Nothing about the Mountains said home like her Charlotte. Letting out a soft whinny of greeting as she trotted toward her daughter, the yellow mare's frown turned into a smile. Even Caiaphas was a nice change of pace from Annas.
"Hello Little Lotte," she said, nuzzling her daughter's poll as she spoke.

'Eh, Ma! Squeaked the little filly. She didn't look so small next to her young mother. The child would easily outgrow her within her second year. The pair were perfect in the towering black stallions eyes, and he slowed slightly watching them together. He felt a certain intimacy towards Precious that he hadn't felt before. Still he was afraid of approaching her too quickly, and he always second guessed touching her. Today, with Annas watching not too far off, and his sisters bound to be close by, Caiaphas was brief in his light caress of his mate's forehead. He eye'd Annas for any response. Although he considered the bald beast to be his friend, trust was no where in the equation of their relationship. Caiaphas didn't trust the king alone with his family. His sisters were one thing, his daughters another.
Good day to you, King. Caiaphas bowed his head in acknowledgment. It had been a spell since he'd last seen the light colored stallion. His eyes flickered as he took in Annas' expression. He'd been watching Precious for some time. Caiaphas took a few steps to position himself between his family and the king, still his body remained relaxed in the defensive position. How might my sister be? And your heir?
Charlotte, enjoying her mother's touch, weaved her way about her parents. She found herself peering out from behind the massive legs of her father. Her manners told her to bow at the king, but as she did she felt the tenseness of her father's stance. Quickly she removed herself from the situation, standing at her mother's shoulder instead. She nuzzled the mutant mare's chest lightly, her tail flicking in the same pace as her mother's. Pilate's caws could be heard in the distance, and eerie addition to the unfolding meeting.
