Julia Julia was growing bored. Bare-hooved and pregnant is what they say right? The chestnut mare heaved deep breaths in and out, sending plumes of steam rolling off of her muzzle and into the snow filled air. It was cold today, and the ground around her was white and undisturbed, for she hadn't moved in at least an hour. She wasn't waiting for anything in particular, she was just standing still, spending time with the growing lump in her stomach.
This lump, although loved, had become a particular bother. Julia's ways, her control had been stolen for the greater good of her child. She continued to breath in and out deeply, trying to achieve the familiar state of crisp sensitivity that she was addicted to. It wasn't working, and crystals of ice were beginning to form on her nose. She sighed once more, taking a step forward to even out her footing once again. You know if you weren't in there.. She began to think to her unborn child. Her thoughts trailed off however, landing on a slightly related subject. Julia was old. Well, she wasn't ancient, but she was ageing. And now she was an expectant mother. What was becoming of her?
She looked off into the distance, feeling the child move inside of her and focusing on its life rather then hers.

Verdelet stood at the edge of a copse of trees watching his son, Rei Ocell, play in the snow. Ver was still startled by how different the colt looked with his pale cream colored coat and bright teal hair, along with his wings, scales, and glowing copper hooves. It was also startling how quiet and laid back he was, always more likely to stand and watch rather then join in.
The colt yawned and stretched his wings then turned and trotted back to Ver's side. Ver nudged him gently and then fell into his own thoughts. He hadn't talked to any of his three mares recently, though Lycia and Julia had gone the longest without his direct attention. It wasn't like he had accepted them into his life and then ignored them completely, he would check on them and make sure they were happy and safe but other then that he didn't interact.
Ver had decided to meet with Julia today, he enjoyed the mare even though she was a little odd to be around. She was one of the very few full coldbloods he had found, that made her a jewel in his eyes. Her pregnancy seemed to be going well and though the foal wasn't born yet Rei was excited to meet his sibling.
Ver shook free of his thoughts and saw Rei looking at him, Ver tilted his head curiously and asked," Yes?"
Rei looked out of the copse and at a small dip farther down," She's down there."
Verdelet searched with wonder, his eye sight had been acting up recently and he couldn't see quite as well as before. After a while his eye focused on the chestnut dame," Hmm, so she is." Ver wasn't going to let on that he wouldn't have found the mare this far away if not for him, but he could tell Rei was still proud of himself. " Well, come on, no time to waste." Rei whinnied in excitement and charged out of the trees towards Julia his little wings flexing and flapping as if he were flying. Ver laughed and followed after.

The exasperated little colt Julia had become fond of seemed to fly down the hill to her. She hadn't spotted him before he'd begun his ruckus, but nonetheless she was happy to see the winged little tyke. "Well Hello, little prince." She laughed, looking past him to the king, his father, who was also making his way towards her. "What might you be up to today?"
Julia positioned herself just so, making her growing weight even on all hooves. Nothing seemed comfortable these days, but this was the best she could do. Her ears moved to listen to any stories the young colt would have to tell her. She had all the time in the world to listen. Or, at least she had all the time until her own little baby came.
