Julia The winds of the flat land surrounding the mare chose not to take up the hanging pieces of her mane. Instead, it passed her by completely, leaving her standing still. Not a single hair on her roaned body moved as she held her breath for moments on end. Her face had taken on a bony slim look in contrast to her full framed, muscular body. She wasn't boyish, but she'd taken on some males in her day. Her tail, fluffed out at the top, hung nearly to the ground with a sleek feminine beauty. She was called Julia, and although she probably wasn't known to any in these lands, she was deciding that this would be her new home.
Of course she would need to consult the kingdom, but something told her she wouldn't have to push to awfully hard. At the age of 8, Julia had been around the block a few times. She was hardened by life and age. Slowly she began to breath again, releasing her ever present need for control in order to keep herself upright. The roan shook out her head slightly, squaring her hooves beneath her as she tried to clear her now foggy head. She'd placed herself nearly in the center of the territory. She'd done her job, now she only had to wait for the King to address her. Hopefully it wouldn't be too much longer. With another breath of air, her head became sharp again and so she lowered her head to take in the grass. It was always more crisp and clear, life was always more beautiful when she was in control.
How are we to advance if we keep reducing each other to names?

Life seemed to be moving in a blur for the large red stallion. Ever since he had found that mare Phooka and had a son with her, well, his head had been in the clouds. First with the pain of remembering his first family, then with the joy of his very odd son. He had finally gotten away from the demanding little winged colt and had time to let his mind clear.
While Verdelet had done a short walk of his home he noticed a distinct female scent. Intrigued he had followed it, it still wasn't very common for Ver to find mares, or anyone, on his land. It was as if the Land was cursed or no one liked it. He rolled his eyes at the thought then stopped dead as the mare in question came into view. She was beautiful, and not some hotblood twig that was so common to find, no she was of draft origin. So uncommon.
She had an air of confidence about her and seemed to demand respect without even having to say a word. Although Ver didn't exactly admire those traits he did like the ones that fought back, he smiled at that thought. After a few more seconds of looking her over He nickered softly and moved closer. "Good day, I assume you want something?" Not really charming was he?

Julia You assume right. Smart king you must be, but slow I fear. I nearly passed out waiting for you. Her voice was full of sarcasm, yet little did he know she had, in fact, almost passed out. Julia watched the coldblooded king with a curious intensity. There weren't very many true coldbloods in the lands these days, and a majority of the ones existing came from the cold north. Julia found this king refreshing.
She took another gasp of air, feeling the crisp alertness of oxygen hitting her brain once again. Merely placing myself upon your lands. She smiled, offering herself to him. But there is a catch. Her mouth shut and her nostrils took in no air as she silently waited for his response.

'But slow I fear.' Those words echoed in his head, an insult? Maybe though she had seemed sarcastic. He studied her carefully, trying to figure out what the chestnut dame wanted, he had no luck though. He noticed that she wasn't breathing and smiled in an odd way, it was certainly curious. " What can I offer to you to make you stay?"

Stability. It was all the mare said before she returned to holding her breath.
