Abhorred didn’t even begin to cover his great hatred for warm weather...or just heat in general. Any time the seasons began to warm, Astor was instantly on a pilgrimage to the coldest parts of the lands – more specifically, the fields of Linx mountain range. Now that autumn was beginning to creep in, Astor was more comfortable, but he wouldn’t truly be comfortable into winter set in. Not with how much hair he had.
Astor knew he wasn’t the strangest creature in the lands, but he knew he was at least the largest and hairiest of them. He had heard of foals being born with wings and bright colors lately; of foals being born with spines and scales, among other various mutations that didn’t exist even when he was born. Even he, the “Beast” as he had been called since his childhood, could feel some remote sense of pity for the poor young souls who had no idea what ridicule they could possibly face. He was still oblivious to the changing views of mutants. To him, non-mutants were still cruel and uncaring towards their mutated brothers and sisters. He had yet to meet a non-mutant who wasn’t throwing insults.
A snarl pulled at his white lips, further revealing the tusk-like fangs that protruded from his lower jaw. His mane, which was very similar to that of a lion’s, puffed slightly at the thought of non-mutants. Maybe if he hid for the rest of his existence, he’d never have to face other equines again. For even the least mutated shunned his presence. Who wouldn’t? He was a giant, hulking mass of hair at 19 hands with horns like a buffalo, tusk-like fangs that could do a fair amount of damage if he got a hold of you, and a tail like a wolf’s on top of it all.
Non-mutants and mutants alike were wise to stay away from him...

Prince Eli & Charlotte "'Cause I am a prince that's why." Eli held his little head high as he walked along his lands. His cousin, Charlotte, followed along close at his heals. They were found together often although seldom as alone as they were today. Charlotte's father, Caiaphas, never let the duo out of his sights. Victoria, Eli's mother, was not as vigilante. Eli wasn't sure why the brute had entrusted his precious daughter into the queens hands today, but he knew he wasn't going to let her spoil his fun.
"You can't run around by yourself without me, though." He added to his statement, looking back at the young wide eyed filly with a stern glance. He didn't want her to get him in trouble when the returned to the herd. "Only prince's can protect fillies like you from the beasties out in the wild." His head returned to its position high in the sky as he trotted onward towards the fields. There was sure to be at least a little snow there. Considering how the weather had been recently there wouldn't be much, but Eli knew it would be enough for two little mouth fulls.
"Beasties!" Came a frightened, yet playful screech, as Charlotte caught up to her elder cousin. "What's that!?Can't be as big as my Da." The painted filly giggled at the thought of her father, a rather large draft, sizing up to this unknown beastie. "Just can't!" She rounded Eli once as the colt slowed to a walk. He was looking for snow now that they had come to the edge of the fields.
"Stay close to me." He whispered, looking out onto the fields. His gaze, usually quite piercing and observant, were trained on the ground, looking for the white he so wanted to be there.
"What's that!?" Came Charlotte's screech, as her own eyes captured something else entirely. "Is that a beastie!?" She peered out from behind Eli with a curious intensity that could be matched by no one. "Is it? Is it!?"
Eli was at a loss of words. All he could hope for now was that the "beastie" didn't see them.
ooc: don't kill them please :3 xDDD
