While Roux had been born and raised in this kind of humidity, it was still a little tough for the two year old to deal with some days. Today was one of those days, but the dark palomino colt found other things to preoccupy his mind. He knew if he focused on something else, rather than how hot or sweaty he was, he’d be better off. After some time, the stout colt eventually found something to do – chase frogs across the mire. It wasn’t a particularly nice sport, but he never purposely injured or killed the frogs. Heavens, no! His mama would be appalled by such behavior, and he never wanted to disappoint his lovely mama. The colt’s light colored hooves stomped at a rather fat frog in particular at the thought of his mama. She was a pretty mare who doted on him heavily, but even Roux knew she wasn’t entirely happy, especially as of late. She took more to hiding away and leaving him alone, which was both a blessing and a curse. He worried for her, like a good son should. Maybe it had something to do with Roux becoming an adult soon? He knew it was a strong possibility. He had stopped growing a few months ago, at least growing up. He was quickly putting on muscle that most colts didn’t quite have yet. He felt that it made up for his lack of height; especially when he was shorter than his own mama. He’d be the strongest stallion in Yacare, and he’d make his mama proud one way or another. ...Even if she didn’t approve of the ways he entertained himself. -------------------------------------------------- status: complete notes: xx "Roux Speech" |
