After encountering the broken mare near the end of winter, he needed a break from his more fragile side, a side he didn't know he even possessed until Phooka. He had left the mare for now and was looking for his favorite little wanderer, Lycia. He gently called her name while searching his home for her, not really intending for her to hear, just something to get his mind on the search. "Lycia my dear, where have you gone now?" Most often the mare was wandering around between the plains and the mountains, and now he was really just hoping to find her close by.
After some more quite searching he gave up for the moment, and lay under one of his choice trees. Little hum escaped him as he drifted off into his mind, letting it wander and muse until he felt up to looking his grey mare once more.
(short short, I love Ver and Lycia)

Lycia had wandered down from the mountains, although the spring up there was beautiful, she had rarely spent any time in the low lands. Even if she was down in the plains in every other season, she had barely come here in the spring, she had grown used to spending her time in the mountains with the spring blossoming flowers at her feet. Her eyes were amazed at how many flowers had sprung up from the earth. Suddenly her ears swiveled forward, catching her name on the wind, cantering forward a bit, she saw the stallion Ver sitting down beside a tree. The way he sat down didn't look like he was angry, nor in a mood to hurt anyone. She was quite humored by how he called her his dear. It made her smile a bit. Mainly because she thought of herself as her own, and no one elses. Trotting forward to make some noise to let him know she was there; She smiled when she approached him. Shaking her head, so her mane would at least settle down, and not be in a jumbled mess from her hurrying down the mountains.

Verdelet looked up slowly as he heard someone approaching and smiled genuinely up at Lycia, "Ah! There you are," He moved to a standing position," I have been looking for you. Though thats probably why you're here." He laughed lightly and moved closer to her, thinking nothing of the action, and went to gently touch her shoulder. "Has your year been good?" He had to think of a way to phrase the question so it was a simple yes or no. It was hard for him to think of the young mare as mute, but after a bit he had gotten almost comfortable with the idea.
He looked Lycia in the eyes for a moment, this feeling of joy and happiness that he was having was strange. It must have been strange for her as well, at least he thought it would. He was drifting back into his own world, his eyes glazing over slightly and the same quiet hum escaping his closed maw. Unconsciously he moved forward and went to drape his head on Lycia's neck.
((Sorry, hes acting a bit strange for me, lol))

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=403f3b] Lycia stood still, waiting for Ver to approach her. She'd grown quite attached to the stallion, and yet she didn't know why. He was always somewhat... getting on her nerves, but then again; he was being nice right now. Growing confused on the very thought of how she grew fond of him, she left it. Focusing on what was happening now. She tuned in to hear the question he asked. She nodded it in a yes. She'd met some of her Dad's side, and that had made many of her days, just wandering through the mountains, and running into them at random. Although she'd only met a few. The young mare smiled at how happy the Stag was. The hum was even making herself even more happy then she was. The soft touch of his mane on her neck made her want to bolt for a moment, mainly from her days of letting no one close to herself when she was young. But she accepted it quickly, turning her own neck; and nuzzling Ver's; Her tails swishing in content

When Lycia nodded to his question and almost silent," Good." escaped him. The moment that the two were sharing was quite an odd one for Ver, he was never this complacent and docile or even happy unless someone else was in pain, but that little hum still came out. As he relaxed on Lycia, standing close and sharing warmth, his mind began to wonder.
At first it was to happy things, like a life with this mare at his side and a herd to fill his empty plains, but soon his thought took their normal rout and turned dark. An evil little voice began to tell him lies,' She'll never love you! You need to take her, make her yours, make her stay!' Ver's eyes burst open and his head shot up, he was shocked by his own thoughts, but as he kept repeating those words in his head they started to sound right.
Lycia was a flighty thing, constantly moving between the plains and the mountains and anywhere else she chose to go, he knew that it was very unlikely she would want to stay in the plains. If he made her stay that would solve all his problems! Ver looked Lycia in the eyes for a long moment, then sighed," Will you stay here? With me?"
(I can not express how long he has wanted to say that O.o

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=403f3b] They stayed at each others side for quite a bit; both their minds wandering into different things. The mare thought of the next place she would run off to; Perhaps some time in the Carlin would do her some peace; or even go to see the leaves fall off the tree's in the Auster. She was very contented in the thought. Making her body even less tense; as she always was. His voice went into her ears, her eyes closed as her mind slowly processed it. She had to run it through her head once more; since her head was content with the thought of leaves. Once it completely ran through her head, she stood there for a moment, her eyes slightly wide; and her stance rather rigid. My freedom, what would the be if I accepted his offer? She backed away from Ver, and paced. Her tails swishing in determination as she weighed out her choices. If he had wanted too, he would have easily have taken her, perhaps he was wary at such a thought? Maybe he cared for her sense of freedom; and offered it, just to see if she would accept? So many questions arose in her mind, her pacing stopping. As her glance looked off in the distance to the mountains. Her family stayed there, and from what she had witnessed; none had left that area very much. Lycia walked back to Ver calmly, her rigid posture now gone, she gave him a sympathetic look at her outburst, and gently nuzzled him. Looking once more to the mountains for reassurance. She nodded a yes slowly, not sure what the Stallions reaction would be.
OCC: Oh Lycia and you're freedom filled mind XD The mere idea of it being taken scares the living daylights out of her.

Waiting for her reaction was agony, not just because he needed to know, but because that silly little voice in his head was telling him to force her to stay. He had to force his limps rigid so that he wouldn't lunge at her, his eyes looking her over hungrily. When she moved back, he couldn't hold it anymore and leapt after her, only to stop and pace later. His eyes never left her as she paced, back and forth, back and forth.
When she finally came back to him he was holding his breath, waiting for what her answer would be. At her nod a flood of relief washed over him and he blew out the pent up air in a giant gush. The voice in his mind lay silent and stunned, but a smile crept to Ver's face. He nuzzled the smaller mare and laughed in joy," Thank you."
((sorry its so short, but I feel this done, do you want to make the baby now?))
