[th][cs=3][rs=3][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,491][bg=241633] Landry couldn't rightly describe his happiness. He had the girl of his dreams, a son to be proud of, and a homeland to be envied. The isabella palomino stallion had it good alright.
Landry was getting on in his years, though. At the ripe age of eleven, Landry was beginning to feel his time. His younger brother Hoss had already been showing signs of age, but that could stand to reason since the leader of the herd had more responsibilities than Landry did. The pale stallion could save his strength while his calico brother worked his tail off keeping the herd safe. Landry was happy to be without a position but at the same time he felt the tiniest bit guilty that he'd essentially saddled Hostetler with the role. Landry had traveled away from the swamplands upon Rembrandt's death so many years before and young Hoss had taken it upon himself to assume his father's role in the absence of Landry. The smaller stallion had more leader in him than Landry, however. In fact, young Hoke reminded Landry of Hoss so much that the pale stallion could tell that the transition from prince to king for little Hoke would be quite easy.
Landry stood tall today, overlooking his home and listening intently as the animals of the swamp began to settle down for the year, making preparations for hibernation.

Minexi had never been so happy in her life, not even once. She was so glad that she had decided to wander with Landry, because it had led her here, she was in love and she had a son that she loved just as much. Molinere had filled a space in her heart that only could be filled by having children of her own, a space she hadn't been aware of having, until he had been born. And Landry was such a good father, even though they didn't have any specific position in the herd, she was happy as long as she could be at his side, since he was her everything. Although their son was getting big now, he had stopped nursing long ago, and the chimeric colt now moved around more by himself then ever. She had seen him play with Odelia, Hoss's granddaughter, and Landrys niece. It made her happy that he had friends, because this was such a friendly place.
Minexi had followed her mate in silence, her small fram being able to move very quietly through the bushes and mangroves, and she could soon see his pale gold frame as she walked up closer to him. She didn't make any sound, but just moved up to him, nipping at his pale cream manein a lovingly manor before just shifting her weight so that she was closer to him, their shoulders touching. "What are you thinking about, my love?"
"Minexi speech."

[th][cs=3][rs=3][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,491][bg=241633] Minexi's arrival was no surprise; the two were inseparable and Landry liked it that way. He couldn't imagine a more beautiful or perfect mate. Hoss had had more mares than Landry could count but that was not the way Landry planned to live his life. Not that he blamed the chimeric stallion - it was the duty of the lead stallion to spread his seed. Landry was happy where he was. He was alive, he was in love, and he was a father.
The pale stallion willingly accepted the nip from the small black, white, and gold mare. He nuzzled her neck, pressing his velvet nose against her coat. "'Ow beaut-ee-ful you ah, mon shah," he said, pulling back to look into her electric blue gaze with his own powder blue ones. Landry spoke more to Minexi than he could boast of speaking to anyone else. The large stallion was almost silent in the company of others, or at least he preferred to be. Actions speak louder than words, in his opinion.
Landry rested his chin on her withers, closing his eyes for a rest.
OOC: I suck at life.
