Eli's Brilliant Ideas
Having spent only two nights on the cold, hard ground, Eli could hardly capture thoughts let alone comprehend his odd predicament as Prince of the northern territory. The small, yet strong bodied colt knew his mother was warm, and he had a strong feeling she was there to protect him. Still, as they walked along the rocky peaks and valleys of the mountains, Eli couldn't help but doubt the black mare's intentions.
His doubt, although he didn't know exactly what it was, ran deep and as they walked along, the young colt found himself inching away from the mare's touch. She was necessary, for survival, for as the altitude increased, the snow patches grew bigger and more frequent. She was warm, no matter how cold her frequent glances felt. His body needed hers for the time being, and yet it wanted nothing to do with her.
Relying solely on instinct, the young colt's mind spun with all of the oddities surrounding his days old life. The snow, and its cold feeling didn't seem quite right, and his mind made a note not to touch it again. The breeze was cold too, and its invisible touch frightened the baby, causing him to hide behind the cold looking mare to take in her own invisible warmth.
It was all nearly too much for the young Prince, and when his mother's voice rang out suddenly, he found himself stumbling. She was so loud, and her voice only added to the cold she carried. Eli looked up to her face, only retrieving yet another awkward glance before they continued their cold, seemingly pointless trek.
Victoria's Icy Glare
The colt, her colt, was proving to be stronger and stronger every hour that passed. His distance from her was nice, yet nerve racking at the same time for the new mother. This child was nothing like Priska, and Victoria sensed her bond with Eli was nothing like the bond Galadriel had formed with her daughter.
Still, Eli was the Prince, Annas' heir, and he was also Victoria's. The only question was whether or not that was a good thing. As Victoria ascended to the top of the hill that would lead into the royal's grove, she paused. Her thoughts where muddled and slow, but soon she decided to announce her presence to her kin bellow. Annas was sure to be down their as well, yet she did not address him separately.
As her voice died off and the echoing subsided, Victoria looked down to the stumbling child beside her. That wouldn't do. The child couldn't act like this when he was before his father. Her gaze turned hard, but Victoria left it at that, not wanting to make a scene about that day old colt's transgressions. He'd learn soon enough, she thought to herself, picking up a slow trot and listening for the colts hooves following along. Soon enough he'd learn about his duty and purpose. Soon enough.
ooc: meh... :/ ELI joining thread. xD
