She had no idea what had made her stay in this hot area. It had been so cold during the winter that she had started toquestion if she would make it or not. Somehow she had made it, and now spring made sprouts grow almost everywhere where she currently she walked. This was one of the few areas, that wasn't occupied by the Boondocks herd, that held quite a bit of green and shrubs. It was nice for a change, and it made her relax enough to be able to graze beside the waterhole, just being there and clear her mind while filling her hungry stomach. Her crisp white coat was a contrast against everything around her, so it was hard to miss her, unless you were used to seeing such white horses all around of course. But she had heard that the herd currently just was made up of black horses.
She really needed to clear her mind though, she had started to notice that she more and more detached herself from the outside world, became less and less part of it. At least it felt so, and the depression she had had after she had been raped and then lost the one she had loved, had started to creep over her again, making her thoughts black and sad. This was the first time for days that she allowed herself to eat and drink properly, to take care of herself a little. She was still thin after the winter, and with her depression, it was not likely to change any time soon.

Dufresne was not one to make his stomach wait. It was one of the only things he had to do around here. In fact, he was getting a little bored lately. He'd never admit it to anyone, though. Well, not like he knew anyone anyway. He liked it that way, or at least he thought he did. Dufresne found himself satiated for now, his killer instinct bedded down for the season after his last big meal. Perfect timing, too.
She came into view slowly, as the sun inches its way up into the sky. It took him a few takes to see that she was who he thought she was. The white girl. The pale ghost. The innocent beauty. Caitlyn was still here.
Perhaps Dufresne had simply forgotten her. Maybe that was why his being was struck at the sight. The blue ram-stallion had ventured into the lower Boondocks in an effort to bring variety back into his everyday routine, and boy had he. Not only had he filled his belly with meat dissimilar to the normal prairie dog, but now he'd caught a glimpse of the first mare he'd met in a long while. Now that he knew Tzeitel and had become a father, Du found it strange to look upon this other mare. He felt no true connection to the red and blue mare, not yet at least. They'd only met a few times and he could only say he wanted her. He didn't need her. Caitlyn, however, was at such a distance now that he had to see her. Ordinarily he found other horses meddlesome and annoying. Not those two, for whatever reason.
Dufresne approached at a trot and called out to the white female, trying to hold back any hint of eagerness. He wouldn't want to appear as if she had some advantage over him.
OOC: GOD so many pronouns. xD

Slightly unaware of everything around her, she got a little startled by the sound of another horse closing in. Raising her little delicate head, she looked around her to see which way the horse came from. It didn't take her long to see the darker shape, and she instantly recognized him. It was that horned, meat eating stallion she had met before the winter, Dufresne. She could recognize him any time, and that wasn't so hard, seeing that he had huge black ram horns and those special white markings on his legs. She blinked a little, still looking at him, but she didn't know what to do, her brown eyes still tried to believe what she actually saw. Those chocolate brown eyes with little flecks of blue in them, they met his blue eyes when he came closer.
She was a little confused, since she was wondering what he was doing her, and he had taken her by surprise a little there. She clipped her ears slightly, wondering what she was going to say to him, but since she couldn't think of anything special, her voice came out a little shy. "Ehm, hi Dufresne." Was it that surprisng that the little white mare was shy in front of the big ram stallion? Not really.

Dufresne felt a lurch in his stomach as the white mare's coo floated through his cold, dark ears. The feeling was unfamiliar, as if he would be sick. The stallion faltered briefly, catching himself as he stopped before her, his frame towering over her's. Du's lips pursed uncomfortably, not sure how to properly greet the mare.
"Caitlyn," he said simply, the low rasp in his voice heavier than usual as he struggled to speak. His gaze began to dance this way and that, as if he didn't know where to look. Courting was not his style, but he supposed mares preferred it to force-breeding; that was his brother's scene.
Du turned his face upward a little to scratch an itch in his shoulder with the point of his large, curved horns out of anxiety. There was no smile on his face as he looked back at her. He almost felt guilty for not directing more of his attention to the strange white mare. Dufresne had not the slightest idea why he was drawn to this girl, but he certainly was. There was no question about it.
OOC: I can't express my sorry-ness for how late this is!!!!

His coarse voice made her flicker her ears slightly, but she wasn't feeling like getting away from him, not even when she saw him scratch himself with the tip och one of his horns. Ever since she had first laid eyes on him, she had thought that he was different from anyone else, not only in appearence, but also in how he acted. There was something about him that made her want to smile, so even though he just said her name, she couldn't help but giving him a little smile in return. It was strange, cause even though she was a little shy, she felt no fear against the blue roan stallion, but maybe it was because that she had no fear of getting killed or anything, even though she had seen him munch another animal.
"What brings you here? It was some time since I last saw you." She whipped her long white tail slightly over her hocks, before she reached around a little and scratched her belly slightly. She was a small, slender mare, so she had no problem turning like that, but she soon turned her eyes to him again, feeling small to his big statue.
