It felt like she had gotten huge, and she probably had, compared to other mares. The pain had been terrible, truly, and even though she was accustomed to pain, she liked it normally, this was something else. She had been completely helpless to this pain, she couldn't stop it even if she wanted to. She had certainly been swearing for hours after she had left the company of Theran to give birth to their offspring. Swearing, wanting to tear at her own stomach to get the monster out of her. After hours and hours of difficulties and pain, it stopped, when she had gotten the thing out of her. Or rather, as she soon noticed when she got up on her feet, things. She knew nothing of pregnancy, but it had lasted for a long time, it had been excrutiating and when she thought it had stopped, it had begun again. Now it seemed to have stopped permanently though. And the reason lay on the ground. What she thought had been one difficult foal, were two foals. She realized that she had just gotten twins, something even she knew was very rare for horses.
Even though Hel was a cruel, malicious mare, she couldn't help the instincts that flowed over her like hot water when seeing the two foals, and she started to clean them both, the one with the white markings was smaller than the other one, and she soon realized that that one was a filly, and the other one was a colt. The colt had been born first, and as soon as she had licked him clean and dry, she saw that his coat shifted slightly in color, like he had black spots on a black coat. They both had little hard, shiny black spots on their foreheads, she didn't know what it was, but time would probably tell. She wasn't very gentle when she got them up on their long, thin legs, if they were her and Therans offspring they had to be strong, from day one in their life. She wouldn't let them slip, getting weak like every other horse around here. They would be their pride, the heir and princess of Boondocks had to be strong, otherwise they were worth nothing. They could be disposed off in that case.
She continued to nudge them to stand, getting them to hold their balance better, before letting them suckle, something that they seemed to crave, since they searched for it, their instincts told them to. Hel knew that Theran would be pride of their son and daughter, they would be formed into perfect individuals, just like them.

He had watched as the mare stalked off, large stomach seeming to ripple in sudden bouts no doubt showing signs of the impending birth to come. Theran curiously watched said stomach marveling at its' size; perhaps not one one to be described as an expert on the pregnancies of the mare gender he was still no fool in this age and could not help notice and believe she was much larger than most. Then again he had never paid such close attention to other mares as he did this one, it both sickened and intrigued him. She in personality was so much like himself that he believed this is what made her so appealing to him and attracted him-she was after-all the first mare he had bred hoping for promise. His thoughts had gone over the possibilities over the last few hours, giving Hel the time to birth the offspring. Theran had little interest to actually be there for the process, it didn't concern him or interest him. It would not change any outcome if his presence were there; the foal would still either live or perish no matter. The large stallion snorted, could still possibly perish if it did not prove a worthy offspring to continue on his blood.
Those who did not meet his expectations he would have no qualms in disposing off with a cold sneer curling his black lips. Perhaps in this he truly was a monster as Theran had little actual paternal instincts to speak of along with emotional ones; he was...fond of Hel and could not conjure up another more suitable to produce a strong lineage for him as well one who he could somewhat trust. She was however still a mare and in his opinion below him though above others in the herd. He had made it clear her standing and authority; he over-saw all and would have forbid her interaction with stallions if he truly believed she would adhere to such an order, but she seemed just as starving for power and control as he thus with none over him she would take it over all others. An appealing quality yes, though often at times frustrating as she tended at times to push her limits with the black brute. He was uncertain what her thoughts were on their arrangement, though for now he conceded to just allow her to believe in whatever those thoughts may be.
Even with his lack of interest he had lost his patience and watched from the shadows the birthing, his surprise real though hidden behind burning eyes. Eyes that watched the two different offspring sprawl across the ground, the first already seeming to be kicking out his legs upon the hard ground. He was uncertain whether to see this as successful or not; one was a filly and he could feel the temper surge to life at the belief he could not create such a weak gender....however the colt seemed strong in some sense. He was uncertain, unable to draw a proper conclusion of the two or in the least the smaller one. He wanted to snort and point at how proper it was for the filly to be the smaller of the two. Deciding enough of observing he stepped out from his previous concealed space; it was odd for a stallion such as he to hide so well or move as quietly and gracefully as he did-no sound approached his arrival making a cruel smirk twist ebony lips as the colt startled slightly to turn its' head and be staring into his sires burning eyes. The sudden movement on such new legs sent the colt into the filly toppling them both causing Theran to snort not at all impressed by the two. They could be molded however and their quickness to stand once more twitched at his lips.
Without taking his eyes from the two very odd foals he spoke. "Well done, Hel. Very well done."
