It had been some days since the new King had claimed his land, and he realized that he would need others to make a powerful herd. So he had grudgingly left the comfort of his frozen valley and come to the common grounds. He had kept to himself for the past couple days, more observing then intervening.
He wanted to choose a perfect target, one he could have his sick sort of fun with. Maybe he was setting his standards too high, but so far no one fit. He heaved a heavy sigh and began to tromp deeper into the grounds. He would have to find someone eventually, he just hoped it was soon. He didn't like being away from his home and would rather go back with a companion or two.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=403f3b] Lycia was plodding through the snow. The soft crunch of it under her feet was comforting; in fact, this was her favorite season she declared. Besides all the coldness and the threat of dying. Nothing quite could stray away from those minor threats. The only sounds that the mare caught up in her ears were the soft crunch of snow under her feet, and another plodding coming from another set of hooves…. Wait.. What? Hooves?! Lycia lifted her head high, snow falling off her neck as her ears perked forward. Trying to find the source. It was a stallion of course. Covered in scars. The smell that came from him didn't come off as the woods. She lived in the woods; well, at least near them. He actually smelled like a plains. Lycia moved into a trot, nearing a tree. And watching the stallion walk. He didn't seem friendly; not at all. Should I approach him? The mare Swished her two tails watching the scared stallion walk.

It was so quiet in the forest, had been for a while. It was starting to make Ver nervous, every little sound making him look around. So it was no surprise when he heard the very gentle sounds of something moving. He kept walking looking around to see what had made the sound, but not seeing anything. He stopped and gave a more careful look of the surroundings.
With his blind right eye, it made viewing the world so much harder and it was painfully obvious when he couldn't find what he was looking for. Ver gave a low growl and called out," Is anyone there or is my mind playing tricks?" The sound echoed loudly and a few birds startled about a hundred feet away. The stallion growled again and continued to look around.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=403f3b] The dreaded question, The mare snorted through her nose. And kicked the tree by her with her front hoof. Showing her presence. He should at least get a hint i can't talk by that stupid excuse for showing my presence; she thought to herself. Upon looking closer at the stallions face, she saw a pale blue eye. His voice didn't scare her at all, even if he did let out a sort of growl. She'd heard of the kind of horses that were connected to her Dad. In fact, one of the ones she had heard had become the king of her old home. The things she heard about the new King were somewhat horrid. Its something that should scare a lone mare, but it didn't really. It was a strange thought that it didn't scare her. Maybe because her Dad was directly involved with this King. Lycia tilted her head, looking at the stallion with curious eyes. He didn't smell of the woods. So it was quite obvious he resided somewhere else.

A single loud thump was all that alerted Ver to this mystery horses location. The direction was clear though, a place he had swept his eyes over more then once. Silently he cursed his half sight and moved slowly toward the horse. Verdelet was surprised to see a young mare there, too young. She didn't seem frightened like most at his presence, something he admired in others.
Giving the smaller mare some space he spoke a greeting. He didn't know where to go with this, part of him wanted to just leave the female alone, she was much too young for him to really care about; but he was slightly intrigued by her, and bored from searching for herd members. He stood watching her for a few moments then asked," Are you traveling with anyone?" A simple question and one that would answer if he would be willing to stick around awhile longer. If she was with a stallion Ver wouldn't want the trouble that could bring.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=403f3b] It took very little time for the stallion to see her, his blind eye she had noticed must have been what made him skim over where she was and not notice her. She hadn't met any other horse that was blind, except for this foal that was around her when her Mom had given birth, and this horse. Lycia's ears slightly went back at hearing words being spoken. She'd had very little practice at responding to horses, but she could handle it if she tried she thought. The mare shook her head left and right, indicating a no to the question. He wasn't really threatening by the sound of it, in fact; he seemed quite bored. Which didn't anger Lycia at all; it somewhat intrigued her.

So she was alone, but Ver still wasn't that sure of staying. Even if he did stick around the mare, he didn't feel like messing with her. He mentally shrugged and began to walk a wide circle around her," I wonder what your name would be miss?" Ever so polite, he nearly snorted in laughter at how that sounded.
When he reached his previous spot he stopped and half turned so that his left, good, eye was watching her. This mare was certainly different then any he had seen before, and he was starting to like it.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500,true][cs=7][bg=000000] » As he traveled south of the mountains, Caiaphas continued to pick up the scent of his slightly estranged daughter. He wasn't intentionally following her, or so he said, and yet she seemed to keep popping up where ever he turned. Lycia is close, master. Baby girl is very close. Cawed the raven floating overhead. He'd flown off a few times to check on her position, but, being the smart bird he was, the last few miles of their trek he'd stayed close, not wanting to risk being spotted by the keen sensory mare they weren't tracking.
» Caiaphas slowed his hefty pace to a brisk walk, coming into a bit of forestry that he remembered as Carlin. His black lips curled to the wind, as they had when he'd first sensed his daughter, as well as when he'd encountered Annas first born. She was extremely near, and her scent was muffled by that of another equine. The burly stallion's chest tightened at the thought. Lycia was young, but not too young, and he knew she could easily get into trouble outside of the mountains protection. A snort of air sent a ruffled feathered Pilate soaring high into the skies and away from the impending doom.
» The scent was of another stallion, and a confident one at that. Caiaphas had never taken in his stench before, but something told him he would have eventually, even if he didn't try. Lurking in the shadows was what Caiaphas did best, and the irony of the situation was nearly too much to handle. This was how he'd found Sage; this was how Lycia had come to be. I bet you wonder. The black stallions unfathomably low, and steady voice crept through the trees to the unknown and unwanted stallion standing near his daughter.
OOC: so if you didn't already get it... -CAI IS NOT FOLLOWING HER- xDDDDDDD yea right. bahahahaha! mUAHAHAHAHAHA badd asss.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=403f3b] Lycia watched the stallion closely, his circle around the mare made her flick her tails when he reached her butt. She still had her ears somewhat pinned when he asked of her name. It was as if the stallion knew what ticked her off. But it could merely be a coincidence. Who would hardly guess she hated the mere speaking of words? It was a thing she hated but dealed with. She pricked her ears forward. Hearing a voice she knew well in the darkness. What another coincidence, she had been thinking of her Dad earlier;and there was his voice. The mare hadn't had much practice with voicing out her thoughts with movement, so she hoped he would get her simple nodding of her head would let him know she knew was him. She could only hope, unfortantly; horses can't mind read. Lycia looked back at the stallion. Feeling not threatened, which she couldn't find a reason why she would be. She slowly made her way to the blind side of the stallion. Moving her head near it to examine the paleness of it. It was defiantly a different thing to behold. Not that he was strange; the mare herself admitted she was strange with these two tails. But being blind was a normal yet strange thing. Lycia stayed where she was; awaiting to whatever was to happen

Ver noticed the mare wasn't speaking, though he didn't know if was stubbornness or something else. Then he heard something he hadn't been expecting, another stallion. Before he could take in what the stallion had said, the small mare moved to stand on his blind side. He snapped at her and moved back so that he could see her clearly again.
After a few seconds Ver became hostile, his ears flew back to lay on his neck and he stood to his full towering height. The mare seemed to know this other stallion," You Lied." It was only a whisper but it held all his anger. Ver searched the forest for the other stallion, moving his head back and forth to see the whole expanse in front of him. " What do you want?"
(ehhh, sorry. Oh and thanks for nominating him Written )

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500,true][cs=7][bg=000000] » Stand down, stallion. She did nothing of the sort. His voice loomed over the silence of the woods, and he remained deep in the shadows of the distance. He could see the red stud's awkward head movements, yet he doubted if the beast would be able to find him among the trees. Pilate swooped low over the stallion, grabbing a lock of Lycia's mane in his claws before returning to the protection of the trees. His cackling was nervous and loud, annoying to a point of insanity, but Caiaphas said nothing to the bird, blocking the sounds out completely.
» The hidden black stallion felt his chest tense up in anger. This red stallion, large and thick just like Caiaphas, was threatening Lycia's safety. Anything threatening her safety was dead in Caiaphas' book. I said stand down. He began to step out of the shadows, having fully taken in the situation he felt prepared to handle it.
OOC: mahhhh!

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=403f3b]Lycia moved quickly away from the red stallion when he went backwards to see her again. And the quick change of emotion certaintly was tellable. His ears flew back, and so did Lycia's; Showing that she didnt exactly appreciate the gesture, they didnt follow right to the cranium just like his though In the mares mind, she didnt exactly like being called a lier, but of course; she understood why he would say that. She'd told him she was travelling with no one. And in fact, she wasnt at all. She would have appreciated him at least telling so by her scent, sure there was quite a mix of the territories; But barely any horses. Except Her Dad's of course. She'd spent more time with him than anyone lately. The bird flew down, grabbing part of her mane. Lycia showed more displeasure in the sudden grabbing of it by turning her head near her mane and baring her teeth at the now flying off crow. His cawing becoming part of the landscape because it was so often cawed within her ears. The red Stallion spoke once more, but nothing that a nod of a head or the pinning of the ears could make it be a nice communication with her. Lycia brought her ears forward at the apperance of her Dad. Removing her eyes quickly to watch the Red Stallion who was obviously starting to get mad. OCC: Your so very welcome

Verdelet took a large calming breath of icy air, though he wasn't sure if 'standing down' was what he wanted to do at the moment. He watched with an odd stillness as the raven flew over him and grabbed at the mare. He had never seen a bird behave like that, but he had heard of animals taking a liking to horses. It wasn't an impossible idea that this bird had come with the mystery stallion.
A smile crept across Ver's face as the stallion stepped out from his hiding place, ordering Ver again to stand down. He cocked his head and eyed the smaller black stag, He was older then Ver but he didn't look as if he had been in as many fights as Ver had. His smile grew as his muscles relaxed and slowly his said," Well then, what if I say... No?" With that his head shot toward the mares rump, roughly brushing against it.

Say no? Ha! What a thought. Caiaphas wasn't vain, but still he never thought to be challenged. He wasn't king, and he had no mares; but this, this was his daughter, his flesh and blood. No stallion, brave or not, had the right to touch her should Caiaphas say no. You will not say no if you are wise, young thief. Caiaphas eye'd the large stallion that was covered in scars. Normally the black stud would have laughed and walked off from a threat such as this; he wasn't scared, but he wasn't about to throw Lycia under this bus. The red stallion would not have his way with her.
She is not some wretch I wish to claim, Red. This mare is my daughter and you will treat her with the respect she deserves by leaving her to me. His voice grew more and more low with each word, turning rough and gravely near the end of his sentence. Stand down. His feet squared beneath him as he stared down the threat.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=403f3b] Lycia listened intently to the conversation, her eyes watching the red stallion very carefully. He suddenly smiled, and his body didn't look so tense anymore. This sudden relaxation immediately made the young mare tense up. Her eyes confused at what the sudden change in his body meant; within that moment. He spoke, and roughly touched her rump. That was the moment she pinned her ears to her head, and bared her teeth at him to bite him. Her tails flicking madly. She turned her head away quickly from the stallion. Choosing not to bite at the Stallion that she clearly decided she didn't particularly want to be in company with. She moved away from the Stallion a bit, wanting to remove her rump away from him. What a vulgar and ill minded stallion! She thought to herself. Her ears still pinned. The very thought of teaching him some manners was in her thoughts; But her Dad seemed to be quite happy to show him this. But he was giving that Stallion a chance. She hoped the Red Stallion would at least consider it some more. If he didn't; she knew she would bite at him for his actions. But it would happen in all good time if He didn't listen. So the mare stood, and watched. With careful eyes.
