The fact that she had a snake that clinged to her body and that she had laughed wickedly at them didn't help at all, she'd told them stories about what she used to do to strangers, and those stallions had fled as fast as they could basically. Hoho, such a fun day indeed. She laughed again, still walking in towards her own little lair outside the herd perimeters, since she was dealing with some scary stuff, the others in the herd could generally be freaked out by what she did, even though she had never hurt anyone who was part of the swamp.
Zombi hissed something to her that made her laugh, and then she nudged the tip of his tail, which was curled around her left front leg while she walked. "You sure know how to scare them stallions, Zombi." For one who didn't know about Zombi, it must have looked like she was talking to herself, since the snake blended in against her body, mostly hidden around her neck, the mane covering him partially. He liked to hide there, whenever he didn't wish to be seen by the commonfolks. As a king cobra measuring 14 feet, he was good at curling around her body, and he was used to her movements, since he had been with her since she had been just a yearling, even then she had been feared by the others around her, even the ones in her age. She had taked good advantage of it.

Hoke was an avid little adventurer.
He'd snuck away from his mother's side today, but only so far. The colt could still see her silver hair from where he stood past a giant old cypress. Following the trail of fallen moss, Hoke couldn't resist the aroma. The frame of the young foal had to strain to reach Hoke's nose all the way to the ground as he nuzzled the pale green moss, taking in the smell. Pulling back up in a bit of stretch, he let out a quiet, high-pitched whinny and bounced forward a bit until he was stopped in his tracks.
A foreleg stopped in mid-air, Hoke's blue eyes widened at the sight through the branches. The black and white stranger was startling enough, but what was that creature entwined in her hair? Upon seeing the head of the vine-eque animal, the colt couldn't move. Petrified, he opened his mouth to call for his mother but nothing would come of the attempt. His ears fell back and he lowered his hoof until it silently met with the cold ground below. The strange animals blended well with what little snow had fallen in the area. What was this feeling? He wanted to leave. He wanted to never see the horse or her friend again.

[style=margin-left: 15px;] L A V E A U [style=height:200px; width:420px; margin-left: 25px; margin-right: 10px; margin-top: 2px; margin-bottom: 25px; padding: 10px; text-align: justify; overflow: auto;] Her stepts was filled with self-confidence, that was well deserved actually. She did what she did with pride, and she was sure of herself in a way many would never be, because she never cared about what other thought of her. If people thought her as ugly, she would laugh at them. If they saw her as a freak, she would laugh again and ask them what freaks they were, since they called her that and was even thinking in that area of thought-process. Nothing could affect her badly, she wasn't even afraid of death, she had many times seen it, been there, caused it, and she could look death in the white of her eye and laugh at whatever was coming to her, good or bad. You tend to get like that when you had completely accepted who and what you were, and embraced it. She was a freak, a voodoo queen, the wicked witch who scared away anyone who didn't know her, with just a glance. Then there was those few who accepted her for her, and wanted to be in her presence. Facilier was one of those people, but he was even more crazy in his own way, than she was.
When a motion in the corner of her eye caught her attention, she stopped and turned her black and white haze towards the little colt, reminding her of the king. So this was the new heir? The newest little addition in the family? How strikingly similar he was to his parents in so many ways. She wondered if he was just as wary of her like his father. She smiled, something that made the glasgowsmile on her face look even more wicked, and she started to walk towards her. Zombi curled his way out of the mane to be able to see the colt better, placing himself around her flanks and belly, with part of him curled around her back leg instead of her front. Laveau stopped in front of the colt, looking down at him, with just a few feet to spare between them. "Lave, is thissss the new colt you talked about... visssiting?" Zombi hissed, looking at the colt with his piercing snake eyes, all calm. If snakes could smile, he would have. He didn't look like the king cobra he was, since he wasn't flaring his shield out, but he was very curious at the colt. "Yah it is, Zombi. Now shut the hell up so 'ah can introduce myself." She quickly replied to the snake, looking at him before turning the gaze towards Hoke again. "Now, little one. My name is Laveau, and you must be tha rumoured heir, Hoke, aren't shu?"

The approaching stranger made Hoke very nervous but he wasn't sure why. He wanted to run to find Nova and hide but then again he wanted to stick around to see what this mare's story was. Why did she have such a long, legless creature wrapped around her? Wasn't that uncomfortable? When did she find it? What was wrong with her eyes? Did she see in color? So many questions flooded the poor colt's mind as he looked up at the mare, jaw a bit dropped and blue eyes wide as could be.
"Ah'm Hoke, yeah," he said simply, unsure of what this "heir" word was. He confused it with "air" and thus was even more confused. At least she held the same drawl as so many others he depended on in the swamp. It wasn't like her mother's, but it did resemble Hoss'. "Whassat?" he asked as he looked from her to her companion. It was almost hard to focus on what was the animal and what was the mare; their colors were so similar.

Sure, the swamp peoples accent made it all a bit drawly, but it was clear that the colt wasn't old enough to have fully mastered the words. It would come, in time. She could feel it in her bones, this little one would be a special little leader some day, their relationship to eachother would certainly be entertaining. She could already imagine how she would teach every little one about her dark arts, her stories and her way of scaring off others. Maybe she could even take an apprentice? Hoss had always been a little vary of her. But then again, she was a loner, and she rarely accepted to have others around her all the time. Hoss himself, and all the foals, was an exception. Facilier and the queen too. She would never hurt the others in the herd, nor would Zombi, but that didn't stop her from scaring them a bit, especially if they talked behind her back. The current ladies in the herd hadn't done so, yet, but the others had, when she was younger and Hoss had yet to take over the herd. Just the bare thought of it almost made her shiver with excitement, but she held herself up, still looking at the tri-colored foal.
When he asked about Zombi she just smiles, and the snake did too, hissing lightly. She looked at her companion and the connection between them were deep, they could understand eachothers gazes. "This is Zombi, mah companiun and friend. He's a King Cobra, a snake. Haven' your papa told you about 'em?" She smiled, or rather grinned, and she looked at Zombi again, giving him a nod, and the snake raised his body and glided forwards, towards the foal, not leaving Laveau, but enough to be able to take a closer look at the foal, letting his long, black and slitted tongue taste the air in front of him, before returning to her body with a laughter, curling himself around her again. "I like this one, Lave.. He ssssmells nice.."
