[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500,true][cs=7][bg=000000] » The snow was coming down more frequently as the winter continued its decent on the mountains. Peace, or the peace of devils, had succeed the stallions home and his patients and nerves were beginning to get the best of him. With his sister as queen, and their last meeting not all to friendly on the subject of Lycia, his only child, Caiaphas fond himself tracking the yearling. He needed to know she was safe, for the mind of his sister and the power of Annas, the new king, threatened Caiaphas to a new extreme.
» All of the tree's were sleeping now, and in the morning silence, Caiaphas' voice bounced about in an echoy call. His thunder was also accompanied by a higher pitched call, as Pilate used his height to assist in the search. Lycia! Lycia, master's blood, where you be!? Where you be little girl? Caiaphas didn't scold the bird but trotted along behind him, hoping the child would hear him and at least pause in order for him to find her. He'd scented her near the border and he knew she was close now.
» The snow was thickening as he continued, threatening Pilate's altitude and the vision of the pair. Fate was the main thing now, fate and pure luck. He needed to find his daughter.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=403f3b] Lycia could'nt help but not stray far from where she was born. She’d loved seeing the sights of the mainland, although the islands didn’t even pike her tastes at all, too warm over there. Along with the Saraph Sand Dunes. The mare felt quite at home in the snow. She'd met that sickly foal awhile back in the cold weather too. Lycia shook her head, hearing a voice echo through the mountains. That bird? And was that her Father letting his voice ring out through the mountains also? Strange, she'd barely heard of her Father since the last time they met, why would he want to see me now? To talk? HA, like that would be possible. The mare stopped, seeing the snow becoming heaver. She looked around, seeing a few trees bunched together. He'd be able to find me right? He'd found my Mother two times; it should be easy. Lycia loped over to the trees, snow cascading off of her. The trees were absolutely better than standing in the snow. Once inside the cover of trees, Lycia sighed; steam coming from her nostrils. What would be a reason for seeking me out? Lycia lowered her head, hiding underneath a pine tree from the snow. Thinking of how she should express words; she had no means for them after she turned a year old. She'd been alone the whole time...

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500,true][cs=7][bg=000000] » The feathers circling Caiaphas' heavy, coldblood feet drifted in the wind as the stallion paused in the snow to gaze across the clearing towards a patch of trees. Hide and Seek was never a game the stallion understood. He couldn't fathom the importance of the game, and he always hated the seeking part of it. Victoria would blend into her dark surrounding perfectly, and Galadriel, being the sneak she was, could always move off before she was in his grasp. But his eyes weren't tricking him this time. The graying mare in the distance was Lycia, he was sure of it.
» Pilate kept his beak shut as he watched the black stallion stand still in the thickening snow. The stallion seemed in a state of shock, at a standstill, and at the pit of his being, Caiaphas was crying. He was crying out and he was crying emotionally as he gazed upon his ageing daughter standing on her own. He'd not been a father to her. He'd not taken her for walks or kissed her when she was afraid. He'd acted just as his own father had. Caiaphas had become the dead beat dad he'd hated his entire life.
» Lycia! His broken voice rang out through the snow, echoing in the bareness of the winter months. It was obvious the emotions that where churning deep within him. He couldn't hide them this time, he couldn't hide them from her. Slowly he approached her, as Pilate disappeared in an overhanging branch.
OOC: Dawww. he's such a softy.

[atrb=border,0,true][cs=7][bg=403f3b] Lycia watched the steam from her nostrils fill up the air. It disappeared so quick, like everything that lives. One day something or someone will be there. Then they will be gone. Lycia thought this with a somewhat happy mind. Because she had accepted this quite a long time ago, things happen; they disappear. Perking her ears, Lycia let her eyes drift upwards to her Father standing in the snow. Just standing. Why is he just standing there? She tilted her head in confusion, the snow literally swirling around his body. In her confusion, he cried out her name. Lycia's back foot stepped back a bit, as if to strengthen her stance. She was obviously taken back by the emotion shown in his voice. Did he sound like this when she had first met him? Was something wrong? Or did he finally get a tugging on his heart to come visit her? So many questions and no way to ask, it’s a shame, she thought. Her head lifted up to see the bird, only for a split second though. Before his dark feathers disappeared. Just in a moment of distraction, Her Father had walked up to her. The mare slightly bowed her head as a greeting to him. Seeing tears on his face took her back, since she’d barely even seen a horse show this much emotion. It was just a strange thing to behold to her.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500,true][cs=7][bg=000000] » Caiaphas' approach had been fast, once he'd found his legs. He'd reached the greying mare easily, swiftly, and with purpose. Although nothing could bring the massive stallion down to size, the emotion rolling off of his body took his position in the matter down a few notches. He couldn't believe how old she was, how tall. So much time had passed, and he'd done nothing to keep her close.
» Sage. A thought, although brief, that continued to run through his mind as they stood in silence. How would sage talk to her. Caiaphas knew his daughter was mute. She had been since birth, and although she was silent now, Caiaphas could see her eyes and all of the thoughts that still flew through them. His daughter was not slow, she was as smart as an owl, wise beyond her years. All of her thoughts were trapped inside her. Caiaphas couldn't imagine what she was thinking about.
» I'm so sorry, Lycia. He whispered, not wanting to ruin the moment they were having, he was having. He didn't want to disturb the piece with his words. Her silence seemed perfect, and although he was frightened he also felt a certain deep pride for his daughter. He wouldn't let her go now. He would keep up; let her live but stay near.
OOC: finally. sorry about the wait.

Lycia nodded at his apology, her head dipping low. It was quite a difficult situation to take on. She turned her head to look behind her. Only to turn it back. She cursed herself softly in her mind. It seemed he didn't mind her not being able to speak with her words. But it bothered the young mare greatly. The question she let arise from her mind was why he was sorry. She turned her head back to him. Tilting it a little. At first she let it brush off her shoulders. But now.. What was the means of such a apology? Was it because he'd kept his distance from her? It must be. Although it didn't mind her that much, she had the same thoughts. Well.. in her mind at least, she couldn't mind read or anything of the sort. Lycia looked down at the ground before returning her gaze back at her Dad. He seemed perfectly fine with the situation, he didn't make any remarks about her inability to speak. The very thought of no remarks made her quite happy. But how could she be happy while he was crying in front of her? Lycia paused, then walked forward a little. Nuzzling his neck.

[atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,500,true][cs=7][bg=000000] » Caiaphas' body threatened to shy away at the mare's touch, Lycia's touch. He couldn't bring himself to feel completely easy with anyone's touch, let alone his daughter whom he'd let down so completely. His muscles tensed, but he stood still, her muzzle burning his unworthy hide.
» I'm going to be here for you now, Lycia. He whispered. Daddy will always be watching from now on. He'd made his promise. It was simple as that. The pair fell into silence, just taking in the moment that had been delayed for too long.
OOC: I think we can prolly wrap this up here.
