Temperance & Theodora [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=height,475,true][atrb=float,left,true][cs=2][atrb=style, background:#C38EC7; padding: 5px; border: 3px solid #F9B7FF; -moz-border-radius: 10px; -webkit-border-radius: 10px; border-radius: 10px;] The golden leaved trees where comforting. The forest was her birthplace – their birthplace, actually – and there was a suddenly weight lifted off her shoulders now that they stood underneath the golden leaves. The coolness that was carried in on the wind was a nice change of pace, compared to the hot climates they had both endured during their traveling. The golden leaves signaled that change was in the air, despite the mild weather. The red chestnut mare could only hope that the change would be a good thing, instead of a bad omen. She could only hope that her desire to finally settle down would not turn against her. She had kept moving to keep Thea, her precious child, safe, but she knew within the next year they would both need shelter. The lavender hued filly was now two and well on her way to being a mare.
The only traits both females seemed to share were their iridescent pearl colored zebra stripes. Temperance, if one ignored her stripes, appeared relatively normal – a vivid shade of red with a rust colored mane and tail, a bald face that looked like a skull, and some minor rabicano ticking along the insides of her back legs. Thea, on the other hand, was very different from her mother. Her lavender hued coat was a beacon in the golden forest; a stark contrast to what was natural and to what was not. Her silvery mane had begun to grow to a decent length, just as the tuft at the end of her long, lion like tail had. Her black horns had begun to finally grow past her ears, curling back carefully to avoid piercing skin or curling too much. Her eyes, on top of it all, were a brilliant shade of gold...Just like the leaves they stood under.
It was fate, it seemed, that Temperance brought her daughter home.

He was each day increasingly more starting to worry and concern over Shaelir; having such another blow as that to have lost another child of theirs was almost crippling to him and yet he could not imagine her own emotions. He was crippled almost in his own expression of his emotions and though he felt both sympathy and concern there was no way for him to express these to-ward the mare as she grieved over another life. He could not afford such luxuries as mourning, falling back on what was once told to him so often as younger-it was nothing more than just life. Goer admitted it was a harsh reality if not rather blunt to tell one who had lost another child, but in some aspects he could not have such weakness or show it himself. He was saddened at the turn of events, but as it would seem the days did not stop merely for them and neither could he.
He had left the mare earlier in the evening with short parting words and requesting Coeur to keep an eye on her, but he could not do such himself. There would be other chances for offspring between the two and gods be willing nothing would happen to this one. How difficult it must be to look upon Coeur and see the only child of his was from another and yet the young stallion treated Shaelir as if his own mother when his own had abandoned him. True the surrogacy had come somewhat too late as the colt had already spent months at the elder stallions side and would not part ways with his sire.
Shaking such thoughts away for another time Goer rather focused on the trees around him. This had always been his own home that he once shared with a family and memory could not recall ever a time when such tragedies had befallen them, then again it was not as if he had been kept so well informed at such a young age. He knew little of leading when the title was thrust upon him and yet here he stood ever acting the proud King he little felt any longer. Flaring dark nostrils all thoughts seemed to cease at the rather unfamiliar scent; it was of little difficulty for him to determine when there was a newcomer in Auster Wood. The herd generally stayed close together with so many predators who as well favored the trees and he believed himself able to recognize those who belonged to him.
Thus this scent was new; someone knew. Like so many times before it was not difficult to find them, Goer moved almost silently to-ward them as if he floated above the ground. Phantom of the trees he had once been called and the awed struck faces of his foals had amused him at the time-even know he chuckled rather abruptly disturbing the silence about them. The memory only grew more vivid as he looked upon the lavender hued foal, so much more and yet she still reminded him so of Coeur with that odd coloring. It had been the colt who had taken to calling him such and spinning old stories of the forest around them hoping to frighten the younger generations or attract attention to himself. The stallion was still rather...comical making Goer believe he would never grow out of it.
Goer tilted his head in such a way, his half bow in greeting to-ward the two. "I am Goer. Auster King." He had never been well versed in formalities or small talk as so many were. He was always somewhat serious sticking to the general hierarchy of his home. Still though he stood a distance away from the two, head held high truly acting in his part.

Temperance & Theodora [atrb=border,0,true][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=height,475,true][atrb=float,left,true][cs=2][atrb=style, background:#C38EC7; padding: 5px; border: 3px solid #F9B7FF; -moz-border-radius: 10px; -webkit-border-radius: 10px; border-radius: 10px;] “Thea, do not wander far, please.”
The lavender hued two year paused in her step, craning her head around to stare at her mother with golden eyes. Golden eyes that nearly matched the lovely shade the leaves were currently at. It only reminded Temperance why she had finally caved into finding a place to settle down. The only thing she treasured with all her heart would not be safe. Temperance had done her best to keep the lavender hued filly safe since birth. Now, however, Temperance knew she needed help now that Theodora was approaching the cusp of adulthood. She did not want the only thing that mattered to her to be broken.
As the filly slunk back towards her mother, her strange tail swishing to and fro, Theodora’s golden eyes suddenly flitted away from her mother’s frame, staring at something beyond her. The pause in the filly’s approach worried Temperance, causing the red chestnut mare to crane her own neck around to glance at whatever was disturbing Theodora. Blue eyes fixated on the stallion that approached him, the mare’s brow knitting together. Without a word, the lavender filly move closer to her mother, tucking in neatly at the mare’s side as Temperance turned to face him, both sets of eyes never leaving Goer. Theodora’s head was slightly tilted to the side, to avoid impaling her mother with a still growing black horn.
Out of respect, the red chestnut mare bowed her own white head slightly, with Theodora quickly trying to mimic her mother’s fluid motion. It was slightly jerky, but sufficed. “A pleasure, Goer,” the mare replied, storing what information he had given them away. Clearly in her time away, a new king had taken over. “My name is Temperance, and this is my daughter, Theodora.” There was a slight pause, as if the mare was pondering what to say next – but the lavender hued filly beat her to the punch, much to Temperance’s chagrin. “We’re here looking for a home,” Theodora said, her voice still slightly an octave or two higher than it would be once she fully matured. It was an airy sound, somewhat similar to Temperance’s own.

Goer could not curve his own amused expression or twitch of the lips as the young filly so excitedly admitted their purpose; he was rather charmed by her quick tongue and bluntness, just another trait that reminded him so much of Coeur. "The pleasure is all mine." Once more he tilted his head while taking up somewhat the space between them. "You are more than welcome to spend your time here." He was never perverse to adding to his numbers though he wondered the reaction of the herd to such...differant physical beings. The accepted Coeur easily enough though he would not expect any less as it was respect for his position as heir. For others he was uncertain their reactions as Goer did not seem host an abundance of numbers in mutated. Perhaps it would be easier to first introduce them to Coeur.
He was hesitant to create such an introduction as the young stallion was rather eccentric and then at times rather unaware of the emotions of others, but still he believed perhaps the filly would feel more comfortable around one similar to herself. It would not be difficult to locate Coeur as he like himself had taken up walking the trees most of the time when he was not trying to weave scary stories to frighten the young. "Why have you chosen to come here?"
