I know you feel where I'm coming from, Regardless of the things in my past that I've done... Shaelir trotted forward, the dew in the air plastering her forelock against her cranium. She shook her head, dislodging the hair and quickening her pace into a slow gallop, snapping up her sharp hooves, skillfully moving over the brush. She sidestepped the low branches easily, moving through the thick trees silently, almost ghost-like. She flicked her ears back, listening for anything. This place seemed so deserted, yet she had heard of a new ruler who had claimed this land, and she was off to meet him. Maybe he would be good company, as she had been alone for what seemed like years, others tended to avoid Shae. She shook her cranium, she was not sure why though, she didn't find herself rude, but maybe others did.
A crackle in the branches made her pause, one leg poised in the air, as she froze, listening, ears and eyes straining. Then she saw it, a squirrel scratching it's way up a tree. She sighed, she always got herself so worked up, she just wanted to see another equine. She started to move forward again, the trees thinning slightly. Soft waves of sunlight filtered through the tall branches and leaves, making her coat look slightly dappled. She tossed her mane, flicked her tail and stamped her hoof, entertaining herself. She mulled over ideas of what she could do, yet it was always the same. Take a run, graze, explore. Nothing she wanted to do, it just didn't sound fun anymore. She needed company, and she snorted loudly, looking around for any hovering forms, yet, as always, none came to her soft brown orbs. She sighed again, lowering her head and snatching at the greens, pulling it out by the roots and chewing it slowly. It was soft and moist, this was the perfect environment for it to grow, and she found herself with her head lowered, eating the spongy greens. She whisked her tail against her sides, prancing forward to another patch.

He didn't crave attention or go out of his own way to search it out; chase away the gnawing of lonelyness that carved up his spine which was somewhat a useless feeling with his being the new lead of these woods; surounded by not only the equines who asked for this be their home while swearing their loyalty to him and his herd, but the woodland creatures that scurried around aimlessly as did he. Snorting he lowered his his nostrils to the ground while inhaling deeply, searching for new scents or only memorizing the familiar even more to where he would know them by heart, knows these lands as though he lived here most his life; Goer was not raised within Auster wood, but at the base of the mountain, but he frequented these woods often and grew to admire them as the trees around sprouted around him proudly. His thoughts were starting to wonder and escape him, only being tethered back by the distant rumbling of thunder over the trees and behind the mountains. He could almost smell the rain in the damp air, taste it upon his tongue as the wind seemed to come alive if only slightly and push against his massive frame of muscle; his mane jerking for-ward caught in the winds snare.
Once again his nostrils flared, but this time a scent caught within them that peeked his interest, his ears shooting for-ward in a curious nature while his neck extended and head lifted to the air to locate where this new scent was. Still the dominant creature he was Goer pawed at the ground aggressively while making small motions to toss his head, it was another equine and mare; the prospect of a new mare sent an excited jolt down his back and sent his pelt to quiver over tensed muscles locked in excitement. As of late he had no mares to claim, bring into the fold so to speak or ones to carry his young as well continue his own bloodlines. Ignoring the crack of thunder he followed the scent to what he was right in assuming; a mare. Snorting loudly to catch her attention he tried his hardest at appearing friendly, even twitching the corner of his lips up in a smirk, but Goer was unaccustomed to such pleasantries. "It is always not safe out here during a storm alone."

My hearts a stereo, It beats for you, so listen close... Shaelir's audits flicked back as another voice spoke, 'It is always not safe out here during a storm alone,' Her head snapped up, and her eyes grew wide. Could it really be? Another equine? Finally?! She turned, facing the new stag, lifting her cranium and examining the newcomer. So, was this the new warrior if Auster Wood? She inhaled, standing taller and looking into his eyes. "I am well aware, I had not realized the coming storm, I was a bit... distracted." A small laugh escaped her maw, and she flicked her long blonde tail. She smiled, taking a step forward, "I have heard of a new alpha of these lands, I am guessing you are the one I am hearing of?" Shae asked, before realizing she hadn't introduced herself. "Oh, excuse my manners, I am Shaelir, or Shae." She dipped her head in a greeting, and of respect of the stag, knowing they could be dangerous.
The thunder clapped loudly overhead, causing Shae to flinch by the tiniest bit. She shook her mane, pawing at the ground uneasily. This storm was quickly worsening, and she glanced at the stag nervously, hoping he would take charge and possibly lead them to a more secure area, or at least let them flee the presence of these tall trees, which could easily burst into flames with every lick of a lightening bolt. Just then, lightning lit up her eyes, stretching across the dark sky and blinding her momentarily. She stumbled over slightly, blinking as she regained her focus. "I must agree, we should find shelter from this storm," Shae said, worry bubling from her tense form. Thunderstorms made her tense. Only because of when she was a filly, playing among the vast fields, to actually witness lightning touch the ground 3 feet from her, blinding her for at least 5 minutes as she called out in fear, the smell of burning grass all around her. She shook her head, glancing up at the sky, hoping the stag would do something.

He inclined his head to her own greeting, awaiting her to finish speaking before he addressed her; Goer seemed to fit the description of Warrior almost perfectly as his demeanor proved. Always carrying himself with slight air of superiority while the dominating nature to take charge, he was pleasant enough yet always seemed curt and straight to the point, never skirting around something or putting it off. "Your correct, I am the one you have heard of; Goer the new lead of Auster Wood." There was a note of amusement in his words at his formal greeting while he observed her, watched her flinch from the loud clapping of thunder that shook the branches above. Noticing her panic from the oncoming storm he let some of his stoic behavior ebb away while stepping for-ward to nudge her shoulder with a loud snort; "Follow me, it wouldn't do for your nerves to suffer for my lack of effort."
Walking past her, he expected her to follow knowing she would from observing her behavior at the storm. There weren't many places to seek shelter in the trees, thankfully he was aware of a small den or cave; he wasn't sure its' purpose, but it would make do to protect from the storm. By this time rain had begun to fall, stinging his back in sharp pricks; he tried to shake the feel from his body, pelt quivering only in giving the sting a new place to effect him. Tossing his head to-ward the entrance of the make shift shelter for the time he snorted; "This will make do I believe to keep you safe from teh storm."

If you leave me baby, Leave some morphine at my door.... 'Your correct, I am the one you have heard of; Goer the new lead of Auster Wood,' the stag said, holding his head high. Shae nodded, "Nice to meet you," she said softly, watching the clouds. 'Follow me, it wouldn't do for your nerves to suffer for my lack of effort.' Goer said before setting off. She was not exactly sure what he meant, but she followed behind him, her hide brushing his every few paces. She nickered her thanks before pulling up to his stride, moving swiftly over the crowded floor of the forest.
It started to rain, barreling towards them and stinging her eyes like a thousand bees. She blinked, shaking her cranium and pressing closer to Goer, her hair plastering to her body with each drop. A small sheltered cave came into view, big enough for about 3 horses and she scrambled inside, her hooves clacking against the smooth rock. She shivered slightly, looking at Goer. "Thank you, this storm seems like its going to just get worse." Shae said, her voice light. The wind started to pick up outside the cave, quickly coming to a howl. Shae lowered herself to the back of the cave on some moss, pressing closer to Goer's large warm frame. She laid her head across his withers, still shivering slightly as the water clung to pelt and slowly dried. This storm wasn't going to stop soon. Shae knew that. Her eyelids drooped slightly in exhaustion, watching the raging storm that blew over the cozy cave.
Shae yawned, her ears flicking back as her body relaxed, listening to Goer's steady heart beat as she drifted into a peaceful slumber. Da-dum. Da-dum. Da-dum.

ยป Goer tensed from her head laying against his whither, the movement sudden and somewhat a shock to his already raw nerves from the storm raging outside. The mare seemed to already gravitate to-ward him and press against him intimately and it was unknown affection he was yet accustom from other mares'. Inhaling he forced his body to relax under her, even so much to lean into her as his back right leg twitched and bent causing his form to lean against hers in slight support as she leaned against him. He listened avidly to her steady breathing as if mesmerized by it as well the pouring rain outside and for the longest they just stood there and he found somewhat a peace that felt so foreign; it was something new as the tension ebbed away from his body as if washed away and it made him curious about the mare leaning against him. She seemed to trust him almost immediately while push against him for protection while rubbing against him in such a manner for comfort.
Lowering his crania he snorted while turning back to observe her sleeping form; he was curious and being such he reached back to nudge her shoulder before lightly nipping at it waiting for some sort of reaction.

And if I could write you a song, To make you fall in love, I would already have you right under my arm.... It wasn't even a minute before a soft muzzle nudged her shoulder, and then a soft nip. Shaelir opened her eyes warily, snorting in annoyance, but once she saw Goer's face, she smiled, grabbing his mane and pulling softly. She shifted her weight off of him, her head drooping from sleep deprivation. Her ears drooped to the side too, making her look foal-ish and she sneezed, raising her head and listening to the pelting rain start to soften, yet it still stormed. She walked a few steps to the entrance, sticking her maw out in the rain, and letting it splatter softly against it before running down and dripping off.
Shae nickered softly, yet as lightning flashed she jerked her muzzle back and scurried back to Goer, resting against him and placing her head against his chest, quivering just the slightest. All since she was a foal, she was terrified of lightning, as it had flashed three feet from her. She snorted, blinking slightly and realizing how wimp-ish she probably looked in front of him. She shook her forelock in front of her eyes, slightly ashamed of herself.
