~Epona & Falei ~
Falei shivered by Epona's stomach. Her body was eerily warm. Epona was lying down next to her daughter, her own body shaking continuously. She hid it well. trying to make sure her daughter didn't notice her fear.
"Dear, can you still speak? Are you cold?"
Falei's eyes glanced to her mother, her body raking up the word. "Cold."
Epona always knew her daughter was sickly. "You're not cold dear, you're warm. Keep talking to me... just say anything you want to me."
Falei's eyes looked at Epona, and she suddenly convulsed and her mouth brought forth globs of blood. Falei's eyes became wild, her body moving back and forth. Epona grew tense, her body lifting slightly to lean over her daughter.
"Falei? Falei? Answer me, don't leave me just yet. There's still much more things you can do, you can run in the plains, or even go to the islands!"
Falei's eyes glazed over and trickles of blood fell from her mouth. Her body moving in violent shakes. "Warm." She said with a hearty smile that she could muster from her failing body.
Epona let her body relax besides her daughter, who's shivering was residing and her shallow breathing getting quieter.
Epona hummed quietly, letting her shivering and fear of her daughter go away. She needed to comfort her daughter, not freak out at her last moments.
Epona let her eyes dart to where the sun was coming up. The sun warming her freezing body and her daughter's. "Look dear, the sun is coming up. Isn't it beautiful?" She paused. "Of course its beautiful my dear, its the season you were born in."
Epona looked at Falei, her body still. Epona's eyes grew into shock as the realization set in. "Your dead. Dead..."
Epona nudged her daughter, her body limp. Soon she would be a stiff cold body... no longer warm. And will be like the ground in the winter. Unmovable.
Epona stood up quickly her body shaking. She'd just lost her first daughter, a beautiful daughter in which she barely had a year to get to know.
She came to Lake Vesta just to show her daughter the lake in which Epona had grown up. She didnt expect her daughter to suddenly grow ill those few days ago. She remembered her daughter complaining of being light-headed and she went into a small underbrush that Epona could squeeze into with her yearling daughter. And they fell asleep for the night, only to be stuck their all day yesterday... and then stop at the time of her death. She'd spent the last days of her daughters life talking about her days at Lake Vesta.
Epona stood up, seeing the vultures making the calls they did before night fell last night. She looked up, looked at her daughter. And saw the breakfast for birds.
"Bye my dear." She said quietly, trotting off to the lake.
