Audrey's shoulder had been bruised badly, but now as she lay curled next to her feathered son she could no longer feel the pain of abandonment that ran through her body daily. Jemaine yawned, lifting his blue head from its resting place. Winter was moving in quickly and soon, she decided, they would move south.
ooc: LETS FIGURE THIS OUT xDDDD

Rhys had been nearby the pair for seasons now as he watched his son grow. Yes, there was a certain sense of pride associated with watching Jemaine grow into an adolescent worthy of being called Rhys' son, but it was not one he was familiar with. The father had been close by, tending to the two when they needed help with anything, though not without audible reluctance. Something in him told him he had to see that they were safe for a little while longer, and so he remained.
Today, they rested together as he grazed probably a hundred feet away, a small grove of trees between the two. Rhys was glad to be in Auster; it was his favorite haunt. He lifted his head to take a look in their direction...
OOC: Mayhaps when they head south, they part ways? Rhys is gonna stay in the forests.

Jemaine's feathers blew softly on his forehead as he looked to the darker colored stallion that had moved into sight not long ago. The colt, now over a year in age, understood that this stallion was his father yet he felt nothing towards him. His face was expressionless as he looked to Rhys, that is until his mother moved to stand. Jemaine remained on the earth but his confused face said all to many words to his mother. Stay here, dear. I'll only be a moment.
She walked slowly and hesitated slightly as she walked towards the elder, feathered horse. He could hear his mother quietly call out to his father.
ooc: warning for Hud. Due to current nala situations this may be a difficult thread for me. And idk for sure yet if they're going south.

His attention was quickly drawn to the sound of Audrey's strained voice, his royal blue eyes perked in her direction. His nostrils flared a bit as he breathed, surprised at her attempt to speak with him.
Lunch was soon forgotten and the stallion entered the grove that separated them, welcoming of her desire to converse. Her call was met with a whinny of his as he approached. He stopped in the middle, ready to hear whatever she had to say. As much as he hated what he turned into when he was with these two, he knew it was the right thing to stay with them as long as they remained in the forests. Aquila could be anywhere...
"I see you two'ah comfy..." he said quietly, not meaning for it to sound accusatory.
OOC: Oh Nalz, we dun need to continue this thread it you don't want to! D:

He was so elegant when he moved. The blue coloring of his body was darker then her son's, but Audrey knew Jemaine would grow to be just as beautiful as his father. She dipped her head slightly as she approached, but she didn't come within touching range. She was too afraid to touch him.
I wanted to apologize, She murmured in hushed tones. This wasn't a conversation for the child's ears. For my brother. She looked to the ground silently before returning her gaze to Rhys. Thank you for sticking around. She couldn't quite tell if he knew what she was feeling, but his presence made her life so much easier in this time of weakness.
Jemaine rose from the ground quietly, touching his nose to both knees once he was at full height. It was another nervous tick he possessed. His mother was speaking quietly, and it irritated the yearling to no end. I'm not ignorant mom. he thought to himself. In fact, Jemaine was confident in his whit and he approached the pair with his head held high.
ooc: nah s'okay. i love rhys so this is good!
