No New Posts Lythracean Mangroves

Surrounded by different species of mangroves and beautiful flowering plants, the Lythracean Mangroves are a wonderful place to experience new wildlife. An irreplaceable asset to the environment, the mangroves perform a duty far past the mere entertainment of those who live here. A nursery for many different species of birds and fish, the intricate roots of the trees protect the young from predation and the coast from erosion.

No New Posts The Safehouse

Deep within the marsh lies its stronghold, a spacious cave capable of housing several horses at once. If one can brave - and survive - the wet and muddy bogs they will be rewarded with the comfort and safety of the Yacare herd's home. Perched upon a tall hill, the Safehouse's island rises from the depths of the murky swamp to offer a place to dry off. The cave has only one entrance and exit, a thin crevice that will scrape the sides of horses of thicker build. Once inside, however, holes in the roof of the cave allow light to filter in and spread warmth into a soul's bones. Beds of cool moss line the farthest corners of the cave and crystals glitter within its walls. A small pool of clean and clear freshwater lies in the center and is fed through water that filters in through one of the roof's skylights.

Board Description
Yacare Mire
Characterized by saturated soil and murky bodies of water, the rich soil of the Yacare Mire supports a variety of vegetation and woody trees. Not without beauty, fallen trees adorn the water like stepping stones into another world, while the mangroves provide an important ecological service for environment. Home to several different species of alligator and crocodiles, the marshlands are hardly a home for the faint of heart. With little to no solid, dry ground and quick-sand like mud to boot, it is advised that mares keep a careful watch of their foals and to never travel alone.
