Eleazar couldn't decide if she was happy or discouraged to have been found by Caiaphas and his bird. The troop of royals in the mountains were all quite strange, Caiaphas himself being almost like a partner to the strange, bald king. She'd never actually seen the new king, but she'd heard of his lack of a mane. The dark queen and her pale sister looked nothing alike, just like the two males. Eleazar didn't know why Caiaphas had taken her to them; she stayed in the vicinity but tried not to make her presence known too much. They did live in the most hospitable part of the mountains and as spring began to whisper into the homelands, she knew winter would be gone soon and green would return. It would be in her best interest to stay.
The almost-mare found herself alone today, as she so often did. She browsed rather unsuccessfully in her favorite grove a bit away from the royals she knew. She half expected Pilate's voice to sneak up on her, but tried not to. Eleazar never could quite understand what the black bird spoke of, so it was ideal when she didn't have to strain herself to muddle through his words. Crunching on what dead roots lie closest to the surface, Eleazar continued to scrape her hoof along to the top of the ground, searching for as much nourishment as possible.
